Elementary & Intermediate Persian Language course for Foreigners
23rd July- 21 August
The University of Guilan intends to organize Elementary and
intermediate Persian language courses for foreign participants from
23rd of July to 21st of August
Aims
The ultimate aim is to improve the basic skills of language learning
(speaking, listening, writing & reading) and to make a general
familiarization of Iranian culture and society.
Being in a Persian-speaking country allows the course participants to
have more verbal interaction with people and academic staff as well.
The class for elementary level consists of:
? Persian Language Writing
o Persian Language Writing System
o Alphabet
o Dictation
? Persian Language Reading
o Simple texts
o Journals
o Short stories
? Speaking
o Persian Sentence Patterns
o Conversation practice
? Persian Language Listening
o Radio
o Watching TV and videos
o Audio- lingual tapes
o Movies
The classes for intermediate level consist of:
? Persian Language Writing
o Paragraph Writing
o Letter writing ( formal and informal)
o Essay writing
o Regulations of writing ( formally and informally)
o Persian Grammar and syntax
? Persian Language Reading
o Reading texts ( fiction and non-fiction)
o Reading New papers (official and local newspapers)
o Colloquial and formal language
o Idioms and proverbs
? Speaking
o Conversation Practice
o Colloquial and formal conversation
o Idioms and slang
o Proverbs
? Persian Language Listening
o Radio
o Watching TV and videos
o Audio- lingual tapes
o Movies
The course consists of sightseeing, excursion and interesting programs
to provide a general familiarization of Iranian culture and social
life. The outdoor excursion consists of a special program to visit
Esfahan , Shiraz and Perspolis at the end of the term( Provisional).
The classes will be held mornings and afternoons (excluding Thursday's
and Wednesday afternoons). The excursions will be made on Fridays and
on Thursdays and the participants are free to visit the city, go
shopping and do their individual activities.
All classes will take place at the Faculty of Humanities which is
located in the GU main campus.
Accommodation and meals
Course participants will be accommodated in the GU dormitories which
are equipped
with bed, TV and a small refrigerator. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are
served in GU campus.
Registration Fee
The registration is 1400 dollars includes the course instruction,
meals, local excursion and 600 dollars for out-door visit which is
provisional.
